The answers you have may not be definitive, but we need to begin to narrow our views. We all have several interests, but the sooner we can move forward from the "brainstorming" phase, the sooner we can start producing art! Only 7 weeks left....

COMMUNITY:Refugees

WHY?:
- I'm interested in a story I haven't heard before. War is something I've never closely known. I may never truly understand what it is like to have to leave a home because of such a danger. I see bravery in those who are refugees, and would like to hear their stories.
Community:

*Fashion Design (mix of traditional and non-traditional materials)

Why?
*I've lost many family members through severe illnesses. I want to be able to make an impact on the community of Chapel Hill and raise awareness on it. Even though we hear about it everyday, we don't really do much to help. I want to create a more positive light on this issue as well. I'm also curious of how patients at hospitals define "home". I'm definitely interested to hear their stories!
Community: homeless or kids with a parent in prison....I'm really open for any of the communities though

Why? I think homeless is interesting becuase I personally dont know that much about the local homeless community, and I would really like to. I want to to kids with a parent in prison becuase I know how hard it is to have just a single parent, and i cant imagine how hard it would be to have one in prison.

I feel unconnected from the homeless community of chapel hill and I'm interested in expressing the stories I am told through art.

Why: I interact regularly with people who choose a more nomadic lifestyle or don't agree with owning/renting private property I'd like to learn more about their beliefs, motives etc. as well as share these ideas and stories with the general public.
